What Alaska Law Firms Can Do For You?

Sometimes people get hurt and it is truly an “accident.” More often, however, had someone acted in a proper way, the injuries would not have occurred. In the latter case, Anchorage Law Firms are likely able to obtain compensation for the injured persons damages, which may include more than just their physical injuries. Indeed, in a car, truck or motorcycle accident, slip-and-fall, trip-and-fall, medical malpractice, products liability, aircraft crash, etc., there are multiple avenues by which to recover, all of which should be pursued. First, there are basic “economic damages” that include medical bills, pharmacy bills, hospital bills, lost wages and the like—all items that can be demonstrated through the use of documentary evidence. The second most well-known category is “non-economic damages” such as pain and suffering, loss of services, loss of consortium, etc. These are somewhat more subjective and, as a result, take careful and compelling storytelling to convince a judge or jury to award. In addition, there are claims for property damage which, surprising to many, is not limited to damage to your automobile in a car accident case. In fact, quality Anchorage Law Firms will bring claims for any property damages as a result of someone else’s negligence. If you are carrying an expensive houseware and trip over a debris-filled or uneven sidewalk, causing the houseware to be damaged, there is likely to be recovery for such damage. If you are wearing an expensive necklace that shatters as a result of the explosion of a defective product you are using, a claim for property damage for that piece of jewelry is warranted. If you are injured while on the job, you typically cannot sue your employer directly. That sounds harsh, but experienced law firms know that you are not out of luck, but rather have to file a workers’ compensation claim instead. The process is somewhat different from a traditional personal injury lawsuit, but proof of responsibility on the part of the employer, proof of damages and other similarities exist. This is just a sampling of various modes of recovery for your personal injury incident. If your reputation is harmed by the lies of another, there can be recovery. If the acts of another are designed to—and do—cause emotional trauma to you, there can be recovery. If you are wrongfully arrested or prosecuted, there can be recovery. With all these possibilities, it takes a professional to analyze the validity of each and, if warranted, pursue such claims and strategize the best way to go after monies for such causes of action. For these reasons, it is imperative to retain an attorney for any such claims.
