About James Crowson
James Crowson, founder of Crowson Law Group, has dedicated his career to fighting for Alaskans who were injured by the negligence and carelessness of others. With over $100 million recovered for clients, including $75 million in car wreck cases and $25 million in slip and fall/trip and fall cases, James brings both proven results and uncommon compassion to every case he handles.
From Defense to Advocacy
James's path to personal injury law was unconventional. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, he learned to value hard work and commitment, and that continues to guide his practice today. After earning degrees in Biochemistry and Zoology from North Carolina State University, James initially planned to attend medical school. However, he discovered a passion for law that redirected his entire career.
Following law school at the University of Georgia, where he earned his Juris Doctor, James began his legal career defending insurance companies and health care providers against negligence claims. Working alongside some of the best insurance defense lawyers in the country, James learned exactly how insurance companies think, how they build their cases, and what strategies they use to minimize payouts.
But something didn't feel right. James realized he wanted to help individuals secure the compensation needed to support themselves and their families after a devastating injury—not protect the companies that stood in their way. Today, he uses his insider knowledge of insurance defense tactics to level the playing field for accident victims.

In 2010, James fulfilled a longtime dream by moving to Alaska and making it his home. When he founded Crowson Law Group, he was determined to create a different kind of legal experience—one where clients are treated with genuine compassion, respect, and kindness from the first phone call.

Beyond his practice, James gives back to the Anchorage and Wasilla communities through donations to the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Anchorage Animal Care & Control, and Mat-Su Animal Shelter and by matching fundraisers for local high school football teams. In his free time, James enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, and coaching football. He has coached at East High School and Diamond High School, and currently coaches at Wasilla High School where his passion for mentoring young athletes runs a close second to his love of law.
